Detailed Solution

The lieutenant governor of Punjab at the time of the Jallianwala Bagh tragedy was Michael O'Dwyer.
Sir Michael Francis O'Dwyer was an associate degree Irish Indian officialdom (ICS) officer and later the elected official of Punjab, British India, between 1913 and 1919. Throughout O'Dwyer's tenure as Punjab's elected official, the Jallianwala Bagh massacre occurred in Amritsar on April 13, 1919. O'Dwyer supported Reginald Dyer's action at Jallianwala Bagh and clarified that he felt Dyer's orders to shoot at the crowds were correct. He later administered jurisprudence in Punjab on April 15 to March 30 1919. Due to his measures, many officers within the Indian army believed a revolt was possible and were ready for the worst.
