Detailed Solution

Platelets have an 8 to 9-day life span. Blood cells called platelets, sometimes known as thrombocytes, have the job of stopping bleeding.  Megakaryocytes in the bone marrow produce platelets, which are cytoplasmic particles that have no nucleus and are released into the bloodstream.  These biconvex discoid formations are inactive platelets.  The intrinsic apoptotic regulatory system manages the lifespan of each individual platelet.  In the spleen and liver, phagocytosis breaks down old platelets.
