The limited area of grazing field during British rule resulted in starvation of large number of cattle owned by pastoralists.

The cattle started to die in starvation due to shortage of forage for the animals as a result of limited land of grazing over different seasons. Unlike the period when pastoral movements granted time for the restoration of vegetation growth which became hardly possible during British rule as the pastureland were already limited in area.
