Detailed Solution

The given points are (2,-3) and (-5,1) and also (7˙,-1) and (0,3).

The formula for slope of the line joining two points x1,y1 and x2,y2 is  m=y2-y1x2-x1.

Slope of the line joining the points (2,-3) and (-5,1) is given by

m1=y2-y1x2-x1 m1=1--3-5-2 m1=-47

Slope of the line joining the points  7,-1 and 0,3 is given by

m2=y2-y1x2-x1 m2=3--10-7 m2=-47

The slope the line joining the points are equal. That is,   m1=m2

Therefore, the two lines are parallel.

Hence, option 1 is the correct answer.
