The linear momentum of a body is twice its kinetic energy. Find its velocity.

Given:
Linear momentum, p= 2 x K.E    ......(1)

To find: 
Velocity(v)

Solution: 
We know that,
KE = $\frac{1}{2}{\mathrm{mv}}^2$  
 $\mathrm{p}= \mathrm{mv}$

where, m is the mass body and v is the velocity of the body.

Substituting the formulae in equation 1,
$\mathrm{mv} = 2 \times \frac{1}{2} {\mathrm{mv}}^2$
$1 = 2 \times \frac{1}{2} \mathrm{v}$

$\mathrm{v}= 1 \mathrm{m}/\mathrm{s}$

Therefore, the velocity of the body must be 1 m/s.
