Detailed Solution

According to the caste system, the lowest castes were those who toiled to keep towns and villages clean or served superior classes. The upper castes viewed these groups as "untouchable." Dagoba Pandurang, Durgaram Mehtaji, and a few of his associates established the Paramahansa Mandali. A covert socio-religious organisation called Paramahansa Mandali was founded in Bombay in 1840 and is connected to Manav Dharma Sabha, which was established in Surat in 1844. It was Maharashtra's first socially and religiously significant institution. Breaking caste norms was the goal of the Paramahansa Mandali. To accomplish this, they fed their gatherings with food prepared by members of lower castes. Additionally, the mandali demanded that widow remarriage and education for women be recognised by society as norms.
