Detailed Solution

The main aim of liberals was the equality of all people before the law and to establish freedom.
The liberals believed that people should get a voice in government formation. The ideals of the French Revolution inspired the liberals. They advocated for the freedom of the press and criticised the conservative order in power. They protested against the state's restrictions and fought for the liberty of markets. There was an urge to end the state's interference in the economic life of people in the 19th century by the liberals. However, many liberal nationalists had to go underground due to the fear of repression after 1815.
