The main function of the Prussian-Zollverein was to abolish tariff barriers. The Prussian-Zollverein was a customs union formed by Germany. In 1834, this union was formed with Prussia. They aimed at removing the tariff barriers. Earlier, a huge amount of taxes was imposed on the export and import of the goods. This created a hurdle in trade from one area to another. It was difficult for the traders to pay such huge amounts of trade tariffs. They decided to establish a union, named the Prussian-Zollverein, in which traders from Prussian and German joined. This union was against the payment of tariffs on the trade. So the main objective was to make free movement of trade from one place to another without any boundaries.
