Detailed Solution

Acceleration due to gravity on the surface of the planet is 9.8 m/s2.
Given data and assumptions:
Mass of the planet, M = 6 × 1024 kg
Radius of the planet, = D2              = 12.8 × 1062
       = 6.4 × 106 m
Gravitational constant, G=6.67 × 10-11 N m2/kg2
We know, acceleration due to gravity,
= × MR2
Putting the values of G, M and R in the above equation, we get
= 6.67 × 10-11  × 6 × 1024 (6.4 × 106 )2
= 9.8 m/s2
