The mean of 31 results is 60. If the mean of the first 16 results is 58 and that of the last 16 results is 62, The 16th result is 64.
Given the mean of first 16 results is 58 and the mean of last 16 results is 62 and the mean of 31 results is 60.
Mean of first 16 results is,
Sum of first 16 16 =58 Sum of first 16=58×16 Sum of first 16=928
Now, the last 16 results are 62.
Sum of last 16 16 =62 Sum of last 16=62×16 Sum of last 16=992
Now, the 16th result is,  = 992 – 928
= 64
