The mean of five numbers is 27. If one of the numbers is excluded the mean gets reduced by 2, then the excluded number is

Mean $=\frac{\text{sum of the five numbers}}{5}=27$

$=\text{sum of the five numbers }=5\times 27=135$

After one number excluded

Mean $=27-2$

Mean $=25$

$\frac{\text{some of four numbers}}{4}=25$

Sum of four number $=100$

Excluded number $=$ sum of five numbers $-$  sum of four numbers

$=135-100=35$
