Detailed Solution

The mean of three numbers is 10. The mean of the other four numbers is 12. The mean of all the numbers is 11.14.
We know that,
Mean =  Sum of all the observations Number of observations
Given that, the mean of the first three numbers is 10.
So,  10= Sum of all the observations 3 Sum of all the observations  S 1 =30.....(i)   Also, the mean of the next four numbers is 12. So,  12= Sum of all the observations 4 Sum of all the observations=12×4 Sum of all the observations  S 2 =48.....(ii)   Using equation (i) and (ii),
The sum of 7 observations, S 3 =30+48=78.   So, required mean,
  = S 3 7 = 78 7 =11.14    Hence, the mean of all the numbers is 11.14.
