Detailed Solution

The meaning of proto - industrialization is the beginning of industrialization.
Frequently, we attribute the development of factories to industrialization. Factory production is what we mean when we speak of industrial production. Also, in the same context, factory workers are considered industrial labourers. The establishment of the first factories is a common starting point for histories of industrialization. However, large-scale industrial production for a worldwide market existed even before factories started to appear all over England and Europe. Nothing about this was based on factories. A good number of historians refer to this stage of industrialization as proto-industrialization. Proto means beginning. And hence, Proto-industrialization is the beginning of industrialization.
