Detailed Solution

The meaning of the village named Charupallam is 'Village of the Incline'. This village is located near the famous Rajarajeshwara temple of Thanjavur. The Rajarajeshwara temple is profoundly known for its tall shikhara. A 90-tonne stone was kept on top of the shikhara using a very interesting technique. The architects used an inclined path to roll up the heavy stone on the top of the temple. The path took about a four-kilometre stretch. That is why Charupallam village is known as the "village of the incline".
