 The method used to separate the components of different densities  using wind is winnowing.
To separate the components of different densities, a process is used which is known as winnowing. In this process, heavier and lighter components of a mixture are separated by the help of wind or blowing air. Husk is removed from grain seeds using this process. In this process, grains are allowed to fall from a certain height. Since, husk is lighter than the grains, it is removed easily by air blow.
