Detailed Solution

The method which is used in separating a mixture of husk from grains is winnowing.
The process of separating husk or chaff from the grains with the help of wind or by blowing air is called winnowing. This method is used to separate the lighter component from the heavier component using wind or by blowing air. The grains are taken in the winnowing basket and are dropped from a higher platform. The lighter particles that are husk or chaff are blown away by the wind and the grains fall down forming a heap. So, this way the husk is separated from the grains.
