The middle finger is represented by Fleming's left rule.

In Fleming's left-hand thumb rule, when the thumb, forefinger and middle finger are kept mutually perpendicular to each other then: 
 The thumb represents the direction of force experienced by the conductor.
 The forefinger represents the direction of magnetic field, and
 The middle finger represents the direction of the current flowing through the conductor.
