Detailed Solution

The moderate leaders did not believe in violent actions.
The moderate leaders rejected the use of force.
Leaders who favoured moderation disapproved of violence. To achieve freedom, moderates opted for a peaceful route. They expressed their demands using legal means, including petitions, gatherings, resolutions, pamphlets, memoranda, and delegates. They did not seek total independence; rather, they sought to secure political rights and self-government under British rule. Some of the most well-known Moderate leaders include Dadabhai Naoroji, Womesh Chandra Bonnerjee, G Subramania Aiyer, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Madan Mohan Malaviya, and Sir Surendranath Banerjee. In the second half of the 19th century, Indian nationalism emerged as a result of several elements, including western education, socio-religious reforms, British policies, and others.
