During the day, we cannot see the moon because the sky is too bright with sunlight. Because of the Earth's spinning towards the east, we are moved to the side facing away from the Sun, and we have nighttime. Therefore, we can see the moon as there is no bright light from the Sun during the night.

Unlike the Sun, the Moon doesn't create its own light. We can only see it because light from the Sun is reflecting off of its surface.
