Detailed Solution

Given the distance of the moon from earth  is about 384000 km and its path around the earth is nearly circular.
We know that the circumference of a circle of radius say ‘r’ is mathematically given as 2πr .
Next, one complete revolution for any object means that the object has covered the distance or length equivalent to that of a complete circle.
So, we can say that the distance covered by the moon will be the perimeter of the circular path followed by it. Now, as the radius for the path is given as 384000 km, so its circumference ‘C’ will be,
C=2πr =2×3.14×384000 =2411520 km
Hence, in one revolution around the earth, the moon covers a length 2411520 km.
Hence, the correct option is (2).
