Detailed Solution

The Movement that spread in Gudem Hills of Andhra Pradesh was a Militant Guerrilla movement. To attain Swaraj, Gudem rebels attacked police stations, attempted to assassinate British officials, and engaged in guerilla warfare. Although not identical to Gandhi's non-cooperation movement, he was the inspiration for it. The movement was essentially a protest against forest regulations. The colonial authorities had isolated forest parts here, as they had done in other forest zones, prohibiting locals from entering woodlands to graze cattle or collect firewood or fruits. This infuriated the residents of the hills. So they rose against the British, led by Alluri Sitaram Raju.
