Detailed Solution

Civil Disobedience Movement was the movement launched by Gandhiji during the Great Depression of 1929.
On March 12, 1930, Gandhi launched the Civil Disobedience Movement by leading the historic Dandi Salt March, which began at Sabarmati Ashram with roughly 78 volunteers and ended at the British Government's Salt Laws. He had written a letter to the then-Viceroy, Irwin, requesting that he meet his demands. Along with this activity, campaigns such as "no tax," "no revenue," and "no rent (land tax)" became quite popular in many sectors of Post-war India. In Bengal and the northwest, the movement was violent. Across India, civil disobedience began, involving millions of Indians, and British police arrested over 60,000 people. On May 5, Gandhi was arrested, but the satyagraha proceeded without him.
