Detailed Solution

The Mundurucu peoples belonged to the Brazilian Amazon. Once the forest department took over forests, many people lost out in numerous ways. There were, however, some people who gained new employment after this development. For example, the Mundurucu people, who belonged to the Brazilian Amazon, met the growing demand for rubber during the mid-nineteenth century by collecting latex from rubber trees. Before the forest laws were enacted, they used to reside on high ground and practice shifting cultivation. However, after the trade of latex picked up, they came down to live in trading posts and became wholly reliant on traders.
