Detailed Solution

The muscle which is responsible for the change of focal length is the ciliary muscle.
The human eye enables us to see this wonderful and colourful world. Different parts of the eyes perform different functions so that we can see objects clearly. The muscles which are responsible for changing the shape of the lens so that a clear image can be obtained on the retina are known as ciliary muscles. The ciliary muscles change the shape of the lens to too thick when the object is placed nearby, and the shape of the lens is changed to thin when the objects are placed at infinite.
