The National Food Security Act launch in  2013. This act was the launch for providing food and nutritional security at affordable prices and enabling people to live a life with dignity and integrity. This act has categorized households for food security as 75% of the rural population and 50% of the urban population. This act provides a particular amount of grains to the selected population of rural and urban households to claim food grains at very affordable prices. The government allotted 35 kg of grains per household and 5 kg of grains per person per month.
