To address the country's malnutrition crisis, the government of India established the National Health Mission. This mission aimed to target both the rural and urban populations, which it did by incorporating two other malnutrition missions. The National Rural Health Mission's objective is to increase people's access to and availability of high-quality healthcare, focusing on the underserved, women, children, and those who live in rural areas. Access to water, sanitation, hygiene, immunization, and nutrition services and services related to women's and children's health.
