Detailed Solution

The Non-Cooperation Movement was started by Mahatma Gandhi. It aimed at non–violent Satyagraha to achieve ends. In the Non-cooperation movement, the methods adopted were:
  • Boycott of foreign goods and burning foreign cloth and other commodities.
  • Picketing of liquor shops
  • Boycott civil services, police, court, and other government institutions.
  • Adopting indigenous commodities, schools, colleges, etc.

  • The Non-Cooperation movement could not sustain itself for long. It withdrew as people resorted to violent means as opposed to Gandhian ideals.
