Detailed Solution

The Non-Cooperation movement was started with the ultimate aim of Swaraj.
The Non-cooperation movement was started in September 1920 at the Calcutta session of INC. Gandhiji stated that the campaign was formed with the objective, “Swaraj as its ultimate aim”, said Gandhiji. In his famous book, Hind Swaraj Gandhiji declared that the British established rule in India with the cooperation of India. So if Indians refused to cooperate, the British government would collapse within a year, and thus Swaraj could be attained. Hence in this non-violent movement, many steps like the surrender of titles,  refusal of government jobs, and the boycott of British courts, army, civil education services and foreign goods were taken. However, Gandhiji was shocked by the Chauri Chaura incident and withdrew from the movement.
