Detailed Solution

The Non-Cooperation Movement was the idea of  Mahatma Gandhi. To increase the momentum of the national movement to fight against the British government's cruel repressive regime, Gandhi joined hands with the Khilafat Movement. He hoped this would bring together India's two major religious communities, Hindus and Muslims. Mahatma Gandhi and Shaukat Ali toured extensively throughout India to get popular support for the movement. The main motive behind the Non-Cooperation Movement was to boycott legislative councils, law courts, government schools and colleges and surrender titles and honours.
