Detailed Solution

The northeast winds are also called trade winds.
The trade winds are prevailing winds in the east-west direction, found in the equatorial region. They are known as northeast winds in the northern hemisphere and southeast winds in the southern hemisphere, depending on the direction they blow. They are known as trade winds since they help in the movement of ships, thereby influencing trade. Monsoon is the name given to the seasonal wind reversal prevalent in South Asian countries. Cyclonic winds are found in the tropical and temperate belts and absent in the equatorial region. They are swirling air masses arising around a point of low pressure. The extratropical storms from the Mediterranean sea are termed western disturbances.
