The Northern Plains have been formed by the interplay of The Indus, the Ganga and the Brahmaputra major river systems. The Northern Plain is split into three sections. They are the Ganga plain, Punjab plain and Brahmaputra plain. The Ganga plain is found in Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and parts of Jharkhand and West Bengal. The Ganga plain is located between the rivers Ghaggar and Teesta. The Punjab Plains are the western portion of the Northern Plain.
