No.of hybrid orbitals = Sum of the hybrid orbitals at all carbons = 4x No.of  sp3 carbons + 3×No. of sp2 carbons+ 2×Number of  of sp carbons

Number  of Hybrid orbitals = (4×1) + (2×2) = 8

Number  of pure orbitals = Sum of number of atoms other than carbons + 2× No. of π bonds

Number  of pure atomic orbitals = 4 + (2×2) = 8
