  • The isomers can be obtained by changing positions for the substituent methyl group in the benzene ring, forming o-cresol, m-cresol and p-cresol. 
    Adding a -CH2OH group to the benzene ring would also account for the possible isomer, thus producing benzyl alcohol. ether linkage would also result in the formation of anisole having the same molecular formula.
    Naming the 5 possible isomers are benzyl alcohol, anisole, o-, m-, and p- cresols (methyl phenols).
