Detailed Solution

        CaCO3+2HClCaCl2+H2O+CO2

Here, 2 moles of HCl reacts with 1 mole CaCO3 to give 1 mole of CO2.

So, 1 mole HCl=1/2 mole of CO2

3 moles of HCl=3×12=1.5 moles of CO2

Therefore, 3 moles of HCl gives 1.5 moles of CO2.
