The number of planks of dimensions 4m × 5m × 2m that can be stored in a pit which is 40, long 12 m wide and 16 m deep, is 192.
Given, planks of dimensions 4m × 5m × 2m.
Pit dimensions are 40 long, 12 m wide and 16 m deep.
Volume of the pit is lbh=40(12)(16).
=7680 m3
Volume of the plank is lbh=4(5)(2).
=40 m3
Number of planks = Volume of the pit ÷ Volume of the plank
= 768040
=192
So, the number of planks is 192.
