Detailed Solution

Seven parties have been recognized as national parties in India. There are some country-wide parties that are called national parties. These parties have their own units in various states, but by and large, these units follow the same policies, programs, and strategies that are decided at the national level. While the commission treats all parties equally, it offers some special facilities to large and established parties. These parties are given a unique symbol. Only the official candidates of the party can use that election symbol. Some other special facilities are recognized by the Election Commission for this purpose. According to this classification, there were seven recognized national parties in the country in 2018. These are namely, All India Trinamool Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party, Bharatiya Janata Party, Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India(Marxist), Indian National Congress, National Congress Party, and National People’s Party.
