Detailed Solution

The objective of MGNREGA was to provide 100 days of guaranteed employment to at least one person in a rural family.
MGNREGA, or The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005, was enacted to provide 100 days of guaranteed wage employment to one person in a rural family in a calendar year. If unsuccessful, the government had mentioned that it would give unemployment allowances. The work provided under the Act includes watershed, sanitation, flood management, and agriculture-related works. The Act is also known as the Right to Work because it assures that people who wish to work get a chance to work. The Act has also been successful in social development by empowering women by making them financially independent.
