It is coarse and less productive because of a large concentration of kankar nodules. Alluvial soil is formed by the deposition of alluvium by rivers. The alluvial soil of the northern plains is extremely fertile. Sand, silt, and clay, in various amounts, make up alluvial soil. The alluvial soil can be classified on the basis of its age. Khadar is the new alluvial soil which has a higher concentration of tiny particles, making it more fertile. It has a smoother texture because it contains more river silt.
