The original constitution, which came into being, consisted of 395 articles, 22 parts, and 8 schedules. India's constitution went into effect on January 26, 1950. Since then, the number of articles has expanded to 470, with twenty-five parts, twelve schedules, and five appendices. The Indian Constitution is the world's longest written constitution. Dr. B.R.
