Detailed Solution

The Pallava and the Chalukya dynasties gave way to the Chola and Rashtrakuta dynasties, respectively. In Tamilakam, the Pallavas were replaced by the Cholas, while in Badami, the Rashtrakutas took the place of the Chalukyas. The Rashtrakutas and the Cholas are both renowned for their architectural creations. Ellora caves are attributed to the Rashtrakuta dynasty, whilst Rajarajeshwaram and Brihadeshwar are famous Chola temples.
