There are Three Levels of Panchayatsssi Raj Institutions in India. The village level, block level and district level are three different levels of local self-government. Panchayat Samiti is an institution at the block level. It is also called Janpad Panchayat. It is elected for five years and controlled by the chairman and deputy chairman. The block panchayat comprises four groups of members: ex officio members, co-opt members, associate members, and some elected members.
