Detailed Solution

Malaria is a protozoan disease, which is caused by different species of Plasmodium, but malignant malaria is caused by Plasmodium falciparum, which is the most serious one.

Malarial parasite requires two hosts, human and mosquitoes, to complete its life cycle, hence it completes its life cycle inside the human body.

Parasites (sporozoites) reproduce asexually in the red blood cells of human body. Later, the bursting of RBCs is associated with the release of a toxic substance, haemozoin, which is responsible for chills and high fever that recur every three to four days.
