Between the seventh and tenth centuries, architects began expanding structures by including more rooms, doors, and windows. A horizontal beam was still used to span two vertical columns to create roofs, doors, and windows in what is known as "trabeate" or "corbelled" architecture. The trabeate style was utilised between the ninth and thirteenth centuries in constructing temples, mosques, tombs, and structures related to sizable stepped wells. From the twelfth century, two technological and artistic advancements are discernible. The portion of a building above the bottom floor is called the Superstructure. Arches occasionally supported the Superstructure's weight above the doors and windows. This style of architecture was known as "arcuate." Additionally, the use of limestone cement in buildings has increased. When combined with stone chips, this exceptionally high-quality cement became concrete. This facilitated and sped up the construction of big structures.
