Natural fibres can be obtained from natural resources like plants and animals. The fibres that are obtained from plants are known as plant fibres. Cotton is a plant fibre. Cotton fibres are obtained from the fruits of a cotton plant known as cotton bolls. The cotton boll on maturing burst open and the seed of the cotton plant covered with cotton fibres can be seen. . The cotton from these cotton bolls is picked by hand. The fibres are separated from the seeds through a process known as Ginning which is done by hand or by machines.
