Concept: The cornea is the eye's external layer. The portion of the eye that detects light entering our eyes is called the retina. The pupil is the eye's central black hole, through which light enters the eye. The iris of the eye is the area that regulates how much light gets into our eyes.
The cornea is the transparent front part of the eye that covers the iris, pupil, and anterior chamber.
The retina is a thin tissue layer that lines the interior of the eye's back. It stands close to the optic nerve. The retina's primary function is to take in light that has been focussed by the lens, convert it into neural impulses, and send these signals to the brain for visual identification.
Pupil: The pupil is the dark centre of the eye. Its function is to focus light on the retina so you can see by letting light in.
Iris  is responsible for  the amount of light entering into our eye.
Iris can adjust the circular opening called the pupil Pupil  can expand or contract which can control the amount of light entering the eye.
