Goldsmith uses the outermost zone of the flame.
The flame has three layers: the outermost zone of complete combustion is the hottest part which is blue in colour, the middle zone of partial combustion is the moderately hot part which is yellow in colour and the innermost part of unburnt wax vapour, which is black in colour and is least hot, To melt metals like silver, gold, etc. the outermost part is used because it has high temperature and it is hottest. So, the outermost zone of flame is used by goldsmiths.
