The participation of women in public life is very high in Sweden.
As we all know, the number of women in public life is very low almost everywhere. But in some countries, women are very involved in public life. These places are Sweden, Norway, and Finland. In India, the number of women elected to the Lok Sabha reached 12 percent for the first time in 2014, which was the first time this had happened. Less than 5% of the state legislatures are made up of them. Having an equal number of men and women in elected bodies is one way to help women. Local government bodies like panchayats and municipalities set aside one-third of their seats for women. There are now more than 10 lakh women in rural and urban local bodies who were elected. Gender division is one way that politics needs to show some kind of social division. This also shows that when social differences become a political issue, people who are already in a bad position do get help.
