Detailed Solution

The parties involved in the tripartite struggle were the Gurjara-Pratihara, Rashtrakuta, and Pala dynasties.
A dynasty has territory within a boundary. But most of the time, these dynasties try to control and capture other territories with specific characteristics. In south India, there exists a tri-partite struggle. Tri-partite struggle means a fight between three parties. The parties were Gurjara-Pratihara, Rashtrakuta, and Pala dynasties. These dynasties battled for control over a place called Kanauj in the Ganga Valley. Dantidurga founded the Rashtrakuta dynasty. And the Pala dynasty was founded by Gopala. Nagabatta I founded the Gurjara-Pratihara dynasty. Besides battle, they tried to demonstrate their power and resources by building temples.
