Detailed Solution

The people of the Third Estate were disgruntled due to the voting process in the National Assembly.
In the past, voting in the Estates General was done because each estate only had one vote. Louis XVI also insisted on carrying out the same procedure when a meeting was convened in 1789. However, representatives of the third estate insisted that voting should take place in the assembly as a whole, with each member having one vote because they had the most members in the French Society. It was one of the democratic tenets advanced by intellectuals like Rousseau in his work The Social Contract. However, members of the third estate left the assembly in protest after the king turned down this idea.
