Detailed Solution

The perimeter of a square garden is 48m. A small flower bed covers an 18sqm area inside this garden. The area of the garden that is not covered by the flower bed is 126 sq.m.
Given that perimeter of a square garden = 48m and area of  flower bed = 18 sq.m.
Now,
Perimeter of a square garden = 4 × side
48  = 4 × side
side = 484
side = 12
Length of the square garden is 12 sq.m
Now, we will find the square garden
Area = side × side
= 12 × 12
= 144
Area of the square garden is 144 sq.m
Area of  the garden that is not covered by the flower bed
= Area of the square garden − Area of the flower bed
= 144 − 18
= 126
Therefore, area of the garden that is not covered by the flower bed is 126 sq. m.
